Jonathan H. Garger, DMD

I was born in Pittsburgh and attended University of Pittsburgh and received BA in
Medical Technology and a BA in Political Science and continued on to receive my
Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the same campus in 1989. Following Dental School,
I worked as an associate dentist in Sarver, PA. Following that experience, I left
the private sector to become a dental officer in the dental corps of the the US
Air Force during the Desert Shield/Desert Storm period (1990-1993). At that time
I was stationed at George AFB near Victorville and Travis AFB in Fairfield.
Upon leaving the service, I worked at a number of dental offices as an associate
and learned a great deal about what works and what does not work in a dental office.
In 1999, I took over an excellent dental practice from Dr. Thomas Shearman, who I
later found had some of the nicest patients I ever met. Since my arrival, a lot
of improvements in technology and expansion of services have occurred, but the basic
premise of having a good relationship with the people in the practice has stayed
the same.
In my spare time, I have special interest in the theatre arts and Boy Scouts. I
am proud to say that I earned the Eagle Scout award during my childhood, and it
played a great role in shaping my values. Now, I am the proud father of a scout
who is in Troop 484.
Although, my biggest passion today is spending the quality time with my wife,
(and partaking her endless gourmet food) and my son, Sammy, I would have to say
my second most significant passion is to serve the dental needs of the people in
my community, Bakersfield. My commitment is to continue on improving my skill as
a Dentist with the highest standard of care and deliver the premium quality of dental
services to all my patients and always be there for them.
